Day of the Dead
AustraliaPROJECT
From the Lite Creative Design Studio, this original immersive light art installation is inspired by the Mexican The Day of Dead (Día de los Muertos) where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion reflecting a cyclical view of the universe, that sees death as an integral, ever-present part of life.
Symbolising the temporary yet eternal nature of life, we ask audiences to immersive themselves in a multi- sensory environment to experience the otherworldly. The artwork engages through dramatic sound, dictated lighting effects combined with, scent and scene to create a 360 degree sensory experience that challenges perceptions of humanity.
The light-art design features 180 custom made skulls, individually suspended on kinetic motors, creating a 360- degree sensory experience.
